As a Marketing Specialist I – Community Engagement, you will:

  • Identify, plan and promote appropriate events and activities leading the credit union’s community engagement efforts, both at the branch level and with partnered community nonprofit organizations.
  • Initiate, build, and maintain positive professional relationships with internal team members and community partners.
  • Work closely with the Marketing Team on materials for the Credit Union’s website, physical collateral, and all social media outlets to promote community and branch events. Coordinate and align merchandizing and promotional endeavors to meet the needs of community engagement goals.
  • Make recommendations to maximize return on future investments of events, sponsorships, philanthropic initiatives and donations.
  • Utilize available tools and software to assist in creation and deployment of product marketing to target markets i.e. email, website pages, forms and lists, CRM, other digital and physical (in-branch) assets.
  • Assist with social media content creation, (Instagram-focus) including posts, Reels and Stories.
  • Maintain an effective and cohesive Copper State CU brand across all created assets.

Requirements:
  • Requires education equivalent to a four-year high school education or general education degree (GED). Some post-secondary education preferred.
  • 2 years of related work experience and/or training preferred.
  • Some social media content creation and scheduling experience preferred.
  • Outstanding organizational skills required.
  • Reliable transportation required to travel to community events and credit union facilities on a regular basis.
  • Event planning experience preferred.
  • Professional, well-developed interpersonal skills essential to deal courteously and effectively with management and members while projecting a positive image as representative for the credit union. Candidate approaches others in a tactful manner, reacts well under pressure, accepts responsibility for own actions, and follows through on commitments.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Requires sound and accurate judgment. Displays a willingness to make decisions in a timely manner, usually within established guidelines. Includes appropriate people in decision-making process and can support and explain reasoning for decisions.
  • Knowledge of credit union products and services required.
  • Knowledge of PC applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required. Experience with automated core banking system preferred. Experience utilizing smart phone and tablet applications preferred.
