Job Overview:
We are seeking an Overnight Hospitality Attendant who will primarily focus on the security of the Poydras Property as well as the safety of Inn guests. In addition to ensuring the facility is always secured, this individual will help maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the inn and property during overnight hours. This role involves minimal guest interaction, addressing only essential guest needs such as assisting with lost keys, late check-ins, and other needs
Key Responsibilities:
Patrolling the property’s outdoor boundaries, common areas (such as hallways and entrances,) and ensuring these areas are safe by closing/locking doors, removing any obstructions, and noting and addressing any safety or risk concerns.
Consistently patrol the property and respond to any suspicious activity following established property protocols.
Ensure the inn quarters and common areas remain quiet and conducive to guest rest, especially during late-night hours.
Respond to occasional guest requests, such as checking a guest in overnight, helping with lost keys or providing additional amenities like extra towels.
Perform occasional tidying of common areas, corridors, and any other specified areas during the night to ensure space is safe and presentable.
Inspect areas for maintenance needs and report any issues to the management team and facility manager.
Maintain a log of nightly activities and any guest interactions or requests.
Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations during all activities (security, risk and cleaning duties.
Handle emergency situations with professionalism, following established property protocols.
Maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.
Warns or ejects disruptive individuals from the premises and cautions careless persons to avoid accidents or injury.
Aids with accident victims and completes accident reports; contacts emergency medical personnel, if necessary.
Responds to medical emergencies, if necessary. May be required to conduct CPR or First Aid as the first to arrive upon the scene
Investigates the very rare incidents of fighting, theft, or vandalism on property
Completes overnight reports and hands over to the Innkeeper
Responds to emergency alarms within the hotel and investigates the probable cause
Provides escort to employees to their car after hours
Prepares early morning coffee service for inn guests
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Punctuality and dependability. As the only overnight staff member, your attendance is critical.
High-School graduate or equivalent.
One year of related experience and/or training in field; or equivalent combination of educations and experience.
Willingness to work overnight shifts.
Integrity: ability to work independently with minimal supervision and doing the right thing.
Some experience in the hospitality industry is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
Good English communication skills for limited guest interaction.
Basic problem-solving abilities for handling guest requests and emergencies.
Experience diffusing potentially hostile situations a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and move continuously.
Lifting up to 45 pounds.
Frequent to constant standing and walking.
Occasional twisting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, sitting, climbing stairs
