Purpose of Role:
Reporting to the Mine Manager, the Mine General Foreman will be responsible for supporting USBU’s Project department.
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Responsible for all Earthwork Operations / Projects on the Copper World Site
- Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and audits.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal mining regulations.
- Monitor daily mining operations to meet production goals.
- Coordinate with supervisors to optimize resource allocation and efficiency.
- Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement.
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate the performance of supervisors and crew members.
- Develop policies, procedures and training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the workforce.
- Address conflicts or performance issues promptly and effectively.
- Oversee the maintenance and operation of mining equipment.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to schedule and execute equipment repairs.
- Ensure equipment reliability to minimize downtime.
- Assist the Mine Manager in planning short-term and long-term mining strategies.
- Collaborate with engineering and geology teams to align operations with mine plans.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on production and performance.
- Monitor operational costs and work to reduce inefficiencies.
- Assist in budget preparation and ensure operations stay within budget constraints.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Mining Engineering or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to work & multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in mining operations, including supervisory roles.
- Strong knowledge of mining equipment, processes, and safety protocols.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the mining industry.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and meet all other requirements of the job.
- Can move over uneven terrain
- The ability to work in different environmental conditions.
- Positive work ethic
- Maintain a drug and alcohol-free workplace.
- Possess a valid Driver’s License.
- Ability to lead, motivate, manage and grow the team
- Have reliable personal transportation to the site location (transportation at the site will be in company vehicles)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current MSHA.
