Purpose of Role:
Reporting to the Mine Manager, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the Copper Worlds Project Department.
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Execute approved Capital and Operating Projects including planning, scheduling, construction, commissioning and operational readiness.
- Provide construction coordination for Capital and Operating projects.
- Provide operational support and direct supervision of contractors.
- Develop scopes of work for Mine Operation / Technical capital and operational projects.
- Support the management of requisitions and performance of Technical and Commercial Evaluations.
- Provide coordination for Engineering Quality Control &Assurance programs.
- Support the Contract team during continuous service contract scope development, demand planning and issue management of continuous service contracts.
- Coordinate material logistics required for project execution.
- Perform Kick-off Meetings, Safety Reviews and Weekly Construction meetings with contractors.
- On board contractors with the Safety, Environmental, and operational departments
- Monitor contractor work approvals, site access, quality, efficiency, qualifications and safety.
- Review, validate and approve Contractor Time Sheets.
- Review, validate and sign off on Contractor Invoices that services have been received.
- Understand the scope of the contract to ensure the proper contract/contractor is utilized before scheduling a contractor in to perform work.
- Perform contractor audits for quality, qualifications, compliance, invoice auditing.
- Understand and access contract budget and spend information.
- Understand business value regarding contracts and contract management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:
- Community College (Engineering, Technical or Trades discipline is required)
- Years of Experience 3yrs of Experience with the following
- Preferred knowledge understanding of project management principals and management skills.
- Preferred experience relevant to construction discipline (multidisciplinary but priority earthworks).
- Familiarized with safe work procedures and evaluating safe work practices in the field.
- Familiarized with technical discussions, people management and both short- & long-term planning.
- Familiarized with scheduling, report writing, procurement and standard operating procedures.
- Ability to work & multi-task in a fast -paced environment.
- Can move over uneven terrain
- The ability to work in different environmental conditions.
- Positive work ethic
- Maintain a drug and alcohol-free workplace.
- Possess a valid Driver’s License.
- Ability to lead, motivate, manage and grow the team
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Have reliable personal transportation to the site location (transportation at the site will be in company vehicles)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current MSHA.
