CopperPoint has an exciting opportunity for an Underwriting Systems Analyst. The Underwriting Systems Analyst works closely with the Product analysts and underwriting/operations team members to implement and maintain commercial insurance products on the Guidewire PolicyCenter system. They build business requirements for the product set and perform all aspects of user acceptance testing. The analyst fulfills policy writing system service requests from the business end users and contributes to the systems training and resources. This role promotes underwriting integrity, regulatory compliance, efficient workflows, and good user experience, by supporting product implementations that meet the needs of the insureds, agents, and employees and facilitate the company’s expansion and strategic initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:
- Adheres to standards and follows best practices for processes governing requirement development, defect reporting, user acceptance testing and UW system troubleshooting.
- Remembers the common and product-specific systems functions that support the creation and maintenance of commercial insurance policies. Demonstrates comprehension of key components, their functions and interactions. Articulates in system and business terminology.
- Performs user acceptance testing for scheduled releases and large project implementations. With supervision, designs effective test cases for multiple system capabilities (rates, rules, forms, user interface, data validation, workflows) for commercial insurance products based on documented requirements. Supports implementation of metrics to measure progress. Opens defects and performs re-testing within desired timeframes.
- With limited guidance, prepares business requirements for new and revised commercial insurance forms, underwriting referral rules and system tasks.
- Performs production issue triage, validates requirements, submits defects when needed, and communicates status and resolution within target SLA. Gathers and documents data as needed to assist prioritization and trending. Supports execution of known workarounds. Escalates and prioritizes appropriately.
- Familiar with the unique needs of the various internal system user groups and roles. Participates in meetings with appropriate stakeholders to elicit feedback.
- Supports development of effective training content and resources. May draft training scripts & other resources/job aides needed to implement processes and support underwriting/operations. Performs system demos as prescribed.
- Supports assembly of clear and comprehensive business requirements/acceptance criteria for IT and vendors including review of QA test cases. Assembles internal data on business and system rules.
- Implements PolicyCenter and 3rd party underwriting/product system access requests and completes bi-annual user access audits.
- Supports changes to some rules enforced via policy admin tables controlled by the UW Systems & Product team.
- Provides process improvement suggestions
- A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in commercial insurance is required.
- College degree and/or professional insurance certifications desirable; High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required

- $53,000.00 - $79,000.00 annually
- Compensation may vary dependent on skills, experience, education, and geographical location.
- In addition to base salary, compensation may include an annual discretionary bonus.

- Employees will accrue 0.0769 hours of Paid Time Off (PTO) per paid hour, which may total 20 days a year. In addition, employees will also receive 10 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
