Job Description :
The University photographer ensures that the University has a large, high-quality photo library that reflects Coppin State University’s visual identity. The University Photographer reports to the Senior Creative Director with an overall focus on capturing and delivering imagery and content that reflects Coppin State University priorities while visually depicting a compelling University narrative.
Major Duties :
- Shoots high quality digital images and video footage, as requested, to meet the University’s needs for marketing, social media, web and news coverage.
- Serves as the primary on-campus photographer for the Office of the President.
- Serves as the primary on-campus photographer for high level University events (Homecoming, I Love Coppin Week, Welcome Week, Summer Concerts, etc.).
- Fulfills university photography / video requests with an acute focus on Fundraising, Admissions, Alumni, (and other departments) per University Relations task designation.
- Continually updates University stock photography files of campus locations, buildings, faculty, staff and students.
- Serves as a main resource for an online photo and creative Digital Asset Management with efficient and effective tags, files, internal / external shares, backup, up / download, etc.
- Trains and oversees student employees to ensure project / task completion.
- In collaboration with design staff, develops a recognizable University photo style to become an element in the University’s visual identity.
- Budgets time and office resources to ensure photographic work is done efficiently and in a way that reflects University priorities. Responds to requests from other campus units.
- Coordinates project management details of freelance photographers, as needed.
- Other duties as necessary.
