The Coraopolis Community Development Corporation (CCDC) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Programs and Events to lead the planning, development, and execution of our community initiatives and events. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of program management, including conceptualization, budgeting, marketing, and implementation. This role requires a strategic thinker with a passion for community engagement, a talent for building partnerships, and exceptional organizational skills.

Job Responsibilities
Program Management
- Lead and coordinate CCDC’s programs, including but not limited to the Coraopolis Food Pantry, Snack Pack Program, Coraopolis Community Garden, ESL Classes, and more.
- Develop programming that will be consistent with our mission to reduce poverty and create opportunities for individuals and families in Coraopolis.
- Manage the schedule of the CCDC Resource Center and create partnerships that will enhance our mission.
- Partner with the Executive Director on Economic Development programs including but not limited to the Coraopolis Station Project, Coraopolis Business Association, and the Neighborhood Partnership Program.
- Recruit, train, and support CCDC volunteers for all programs.
- Monitor, record, and communicate program results.
- Assist in analyzing data to improve programs.
- Create and maintain budgets for all programs and special projects.
- Evaluate objectives and work with the Executive Director to update goals to reflect the current needs of Coraopolis.
- Handle a wide variety of miscellaneous assignments to facilitate program events, including but not limited to working with local vendors, purchasing equipment, scheduling events, and distributing event materials.
Community Event Management
- Manage all aspects of the June & July Second Saturday Street Festivals, the Coraopolis Latin Festival, the Coraopolis Fall Festival, and the Coraopolis Ornament Trail.
- Partner with the Coraopolis Business Association to help the business community participate in the festivals and events.
- Collaborate with local partners on activities for kids, special activities, and live music.
- Coordinate all aspects of the festival including organizing vendors, kid’s activities, live music, special activities, and more.
- Promote events and festivals on social media, print, and hanging banners in the community.
- Seek sponsors from local companies to help fund the events and festivals.
Communications
- Lead and coordinate communication of CCDC’s Programs, including social media, website, newsletter, support letters, recruiting materials, and press communication.
- Manage CCDC’s publications in digital and print.
- Provide prompt and effective communication with donors and prospective donors to create stronger partnerships for the CCDC.
- Assist in planning and managing the communications and operations for events, assisting CCDC staff with major events.
- Partner with existing Capital Campaign efforts to communicate the needs of CCDC and the Coraopolis region.
- Work with the Executive Director to provide data and help prepare grant proposals to fund CCDC programs.
- Monitor, record, and communicate program results.
- Assist in analyzing data to improve programs.
Relationship management
- Strengthen relationships with community leaders, funders, contractors, and local political advocates.
- Build relationships with business leaders to strengthen the CCDC’s economic impact.
- Assist in creating and managing CCDC volunteer groups to promote teamwork, encourage a positive work environment, and help volunteers understand the breadth of CCDC’s mission.
- Work with existing partners to create opportunities for growth.
Miscellaneous
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- Education: bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Skill/Abilities
- Strong understanding of the nonprofit sector.
- Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively and execute programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. This includes reporting to all levels of management and the public.
- Knowledge and experience with event planning, poverty alleviation, communications, and community development.
- Express creativity through multiple modes of communication and programming.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, responsibilities, and details.
- Understanding the dynamics of a low to middle-class community.
