POSITION SUMMARY : The Student Account Specialist accomplishes functions related to student account systems and processing, ensuring that student accounts, billings, receivables, and payment plans are accurate and reflect the policies, procedures and process of Corban University. These responsibilities are carried out in a customer centric environment that provides accurate and timely service to students, faculty, and other stakeholders, adheres to best practices, and maintains compliance with applicable federal, state, and university regulations and policies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Administrative
Perform billing activities with detail, accuracy, precision and efficiency.
Oversee and accomplish billing and charges for unique programs (CLI, Online, Paid in Full, Papuan Study Abroad, and other international programs).Accounts ReceivableAssist and accomplish processing and posting of payments to students’ accounts.
Coordinate and implement the formulation of internal controls, policies and procedures for student billing and collection.Participate in Student Financial Services meetings and programs; serve on campus committees, as requested.Serve in a support role and back up administrator for the Director of Student Accounts.Customer Service and Care
Respond to external student related inquiries.Provide excellent customer service by assisting students with interpreting their Populi financial tab, and addressing choices to resolve outstanding balances.Respond to student questions regarding tuition charges, fees, finance charges, and delinquent balance transfers.Work proactively and collaboratively with the Student Accounts and Financial Aid teams to resolve student account issues.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
Knowledge of student software applications, database management, and automated collection processes preferred;Must have technical competency of computer systems, data management, and Microsoft Office;Must be detail and precision oriented with an ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple and competing deadlines;Must be customer service driven with an ability to interact with students and outside vendors in a professional manner that represents Corban University with integrity and courtesy;Must have the ability to work well within a team environment and independently;Must have the ability to problem solve and build trust with key stakeholders and co-workers;Must have the ability to exercise good judgement and handle confidential information in a discrete and professional manner; andMust have excellent written, verbal, grammatical, and interpersonal skills.QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS :
Bachelor’s degree preferred.Prior experience in higher education preferred.Prior experience with Populi Student Information System or similar software preferred.Prior student accounts, business office, or billing experience preferred.Evangelical Christian commitment and lifestyle consistent with the university’s mission as described in our Statement of Faith.Candidates should value an environment that reflects the diversity of God’s kingdom, engages in global concerns and connects culturally.WORKING CONDITIONS : Traditional office environment and hours. Extensive contact with students, parents and staff. Must be able and have the knowledge to use basic business office equipment. Must be able to handle stressful situations with professionalism.
