SUMMARY
This Division Controller plays a pivotal role in driving financial performance, supporting strategic business decisions, and overseeing financial operations across a key division within Corden Pharma. The Division Controller will oversee all financial management and reporting functions within a specific business division of Corden Pharma. This role is critical for ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with corporate policies and accounting standards, and strategic financial decision support for Corden Pharma’s Leadership Team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Lead the preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the division, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with corporate policies and accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS)
- Oversee the consolidation of financial data and provide detailed variance analysis of actual versus budgeted performance, identifying key drivers of financial performance
- Analyze financial results, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow; and provide insights to site Leadership on operational performance, cost structures, and profitability
- Use SAP to extract financial data and create customized reports for Sr. Management, ensuring real-time visibility of financial performance
- Prepare financial forecasts and conduct monthly reviews to track performance against financial goals, making adjustments as necessary based on changing market conditions, operational shifts, or other business factors
Cost Management & Profitability Analysis
- Partner with the Cost Accounting team, supporting accurate reporting of manufacturing costs, including direct materials, labor, overheads, and fixed costs
- Support detailed margin analysis and profitability reviews for various product lines and customer segments
- Partner with Operations to analyze variances, identifying inefficiencies and opportunities for cost reduction or process improvement
- Optimize working capital and cash flow
SAP Financial Systems & Reporting
- Use SAP financial modules (FI, CO, MM, etc.) for financial reporting, cost management, and data extraction, ensuring financial data is accurate, timely, and aligned with global accounting standards
- Develop and implement SAP-based reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to enhance decision-making capabilities for Corden leadership
- Collaborate with IT and SAP teams to continuously improve financial reporting processes, enhance system functionality, and troubleshoot issues related to SAP data integration or reporting discrepancies
- Ensure seamless integration of financial systems across global operations, leveraging SAP’s capabilities to streamline reporting and enhance financial transparency
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with corporate financial policies, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX and local country regulations)
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls for financial processes to mitigate risks and prevent inaccuracies or fraud
- Work closely with internal and external auditors to support the annual audit process, ensuring timely completion and resolution of any audit issues
- Oversee the preparation of audit schedules and the provision of relevant documentation to external auditors
Business Partnering & Decision Support:
- Act as a financial advisor to Corden’s Leadership Team, offering strategic financial guidance and support for key business decisions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Sales, Supply Chain, and Program Management to identify financial implications of business decisions and ensure financial goals are met
- Provide financial modeling and analysis for capital expenditures, product launches, process improvements, and cost-saving initiatives
- Support business leaders by identifying financial opportunities, risks, and areas for improvement, driving alignment between financial performance and business objectives
LEADERSHIP & BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and mentor a team of Finance professionals, ensuring their professional development and fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture within Corden
- Direct Reports: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Accounting, and Payroll
- Provide training and guidance on financial reporting, SAP Systems, and best practices in cost management and financial analysis
- Develop a strong working relationship with other Corden sites, finance teams, and corporate leadership to ensure alignment of financial goals and strategies across the company

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required. CPA, CMA, CFA, or MBA preferred.
- Ten years of experience in Finance or Accounting roles, with a strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost management in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Significant experience using SAP ERP, particularly in financial modules (FI, CO, MM), with a proven track record of leveraging SAP for financial reporting and analysis
- Experience in managing a Finance team and working with cross-functional teams in a global manufacturing setting
- In-depth knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, and financial controls within a manufacturing context
- Strong understanding of global financial regulations and compliance standards
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, and legal contractual documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
