Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert is partnered with an award-winning law firm who is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their team on a contract-to-hire/direct hire basis.
 
Title: Accounting Manager
Location: On-Site –  Norfolk, VA
Salary: $80,000 - $90,000/year
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire / Direct Hire
 
Candidate will be responsible for:

• Managing the company’s financial accounts and preparing financial statements for the firm
• Work with AP and Payroll teams to provide accurate AP and payroll records
• Support billing, cash applications, and collections efforts
• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close efforts
• Work with external auditors to give documentation and research as needed.
• Bank reconciliations, journal entries, GL reconciliations, and cash flow forecasting
• Ensuring GAAP compliance
• Other duties as assigned

Candidate should have the following experience:

• 5 years of accounting experience, including 1 years of supervisory experience
• BS degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or similar major
• Experience in professional services preferred, but not required
• Strong ERP system experience, preferably with Quickbooks
• Excel background to include pivot tables/v lookups/macros to manipulate data
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• “Can do” attitude and ability to find answers
