Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and government contracting standards.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
- Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, CAS, and other relevant regulations and standards.
- Prepare and submit indirect rate proposals, incurred cost submissions, and other required reports.
- Monitor contract compliance, billing, and revenue recognition.
- Utilize Costpoint to manage and analyze financial data.
- Provide training and support to other team members on Costpoint functionalities.
- Continuously improve and optimize system processes and workflows.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Analyze variances between actual results and budgets/forecasts, providing insights and recommendations.
- Support internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and policies.
- Collaborate with project managers, contracts, and other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and contract compliance.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in government contracting.
- Proficiency Costpoint is required.
- Strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS, CAS, and other relevant regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
