Cordova Golf Course is seeking an outgoing, friendly, team-oriented individual for the Golf Starter/Range Attendant position. The first point of contact for golfers and guests, the Golf Starter is one of the most visible employees at the course and tasked with providing exceptional customer service.
Typical Schedule: This is a part-time, year round position that averages 15-20 hours a week. Work hours include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Class Summary
Under direction of the Golf Course Manager, performs a variety of duties pertaining to the golf course and driving range; operates a computer/register to collect payments for green fees, range balls, power carts and merchandise; calls golfers to the tee and ensures that golfers paid for their rounds and tee off when they are supposed to; monitors driving range to ensure proper use; removes golf balls from the driving range, cleans golf balls, and returns golf balls to the ball dispenser; cleans golf carts and ensures carts are charged for use; and performs other related duties as required.

Established in 1958, Cordova Recreation & Park District (CRPD) is an independent special district governed by an elected Board of Directors.
We provide quality recreational programs, parks and services for our diverse and growing region. We currently operate over 50 parks and facilities across more than 600 acres of urban and open space. We also operate Cordova Golf Course which is a full-service 18-Hole course with a lighted driving range, pro-shop and lessons from PGA professionals. We host dozens of events throughout the year and provide athletic, educational and creative outlets for children and adults of all ages.

The following duties are typical for this classification. Incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.
- Operate the pro shop in the highest professional manner.
- Use a point-of-sale computer/register to collect payments for green fees, range balls, power carts and merchandise.
- Calls golfers to the tee and ensures that golfers paid for their rounds and tee off at their scheduled time. Distributes rental equipment such as power/push carts, clubs and driving range balls.
- Monitor the driving range to ensure proper use; remove golf balls from the driving range as assigned; clean golf balls and return golf balls to the ball dispenser.
- Clean golf carts and ensure carts are charged for use.
- Display and sell merchandise as directed.
- Prepare and maintain accurate program records and other records as needed.
- Act as Department representative to local residents, community groups, private businesses, and others regarding questions, problems, concerns, and activities in the provision of golf and recreation programs and facility operations; provide information within the area of assignment; resolve complaints or refer to higher level staff.
- Attend all trainings when provided.
- Perform related duties as required.

- Operate office and cleaning equipment including computers, digital safes, vacuums, dusters and more.

- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Work a varied schedule, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays
