What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Lab Technician- Night Shift- Molecular Department position at Core Diagnostic Laboratories?
Core Diagnostic Laboratories is looking to hire an experienced and motivated Lead Lab Technician to join our Molecular lab team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience performing DNA/RNA extraction and PCR. Core Diagnostic Laboratories specializes in Molecular testing including Covid-19, UTI panels, Respiratory panels, Women's Health panels and Wound panels.
Candidates must have previous experience in a lead or management role. The Lead will responsible for routine bench work in additional to the items listed below.
- Monitor overall workflow
-Delegate tasks
-Assist in training and competency completion for team
- Address errors and issues with team members
-Communicate changes, updates and reminders to team
-Ensure daily tasks and logs are being completed and documented correctly
-Submit documentation for any HR issues
- Contribute to weekly lead/ manager meetings and monthly all staff meetings
-Communicate effectively to team and management in person and through email
-Monitor overall productivity of the team
-Observe and document any instrument, courier or collection issues
-Troubleshoot instrumentation and software
-Decision making and problem solving
Education Requirements:
-Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology or Medical Lab Science or MLT/ MLS Certification
Responsibilities (Routine):
-Sort samples by specimen type
-Analyze sample integrity
- Perform extraction using the Qiagen HTs
-Plate extracted samples onto 96 or 384 well plates
-Perform Real-Time PCR using QuantStudios
-Analyze and report PCR results
-Troubleshoot instrumentation

Schedule:
7 on/ 7 off
Monday to Sunday nights (weeknights 7pm to 7am/ weekends 9pm-7am)
*Required to work all holidays that fall during work week

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
