Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shipyard Dry Dock Master to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine operations and excellent analytical skills.
The Shipyard Dry Dock Master will be responsible for estimating the feasibility of docking and completing docking plans by reviewing relevant drawings, vessel surveys or customer-furnished docking plans. This includes analyzing tidal, slack water, wind and weather conditions prior to docking/undocking and berthing evolutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and attend new construction launch meetings.
- Liaise with new construction teams for support services as needed at repair facilities.
- Report directly to the Repair Yard Manager or General Manager.
- Provide support to tasks and jobs unrelated to the dry dock as requested.
- Maintain a courteous demeanor towards all employees and customers.
- Adhere strictly to all Federal, State and Local safety and environmental regulations.
Requirements:
- 7 years' experience operating floating dry docks.
- Certification as a NAVSEA or DM Consulting Certified Dock Master for floating dry-docks.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering or equivalent years of experience.
- Proficiency in Autocad, GHS and Microsoft software products.
