Nurse Practitioner – Night Shift

Location: Yonkers, NY
Salary: $130,000 - $143,000 per year
Schedule: 3 x 12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) with every other weekend required
About Us
Elizabeth Seton Children’s Center is dedicated to providing exceptional care to children and adolescents with complex medical needs. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Medical Services team on the night shift.
Position Summary
The Nurse Practitioner will work closely with the Lead Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Manager to ensure safe, high-quality care for residents. This role involves clinical evaluations, medication management, emergency response, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct clinical evaluations for acute illnesses and changes in resident conditions.
- Provide medical care for residents with chronic health issues as needed.
- Order medications and ensure proper administration.
- Utilize the electronic medical record system for documentation and ordering.
- Provide emergency medical services for residents and staff when necessary.
- Assist with employee health services, including immunizations and assessments.
- Address abnormal laboratory results and document assessments and treatment plans.
- Coordinate and arrange resident transfers to acute care facilities when required.
- Ensure thorough documentation, including history, physical exams, and treatment plans.
- Provide end-of-shift reports to nursing and medical staff.
- Educate and support nursing staff in collaboration with the nurse supervisor.
- Meet with parents, physicians, and administration as needed.
- Maintain professional knowledge through continuing education.
- Participate in infection control procedures and write comprehensive monthly progress notes.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited RN program
- Master’s in Nursing (MSN) required
- Nurse Practitioner (NP) Certification
- Active RN and NP licenses in New York State
- BCLS certification required
- PALS certification preferred
- DEA certification required
- Pediatric and adolescent nursing experience preferred
Additional Requirements
- Ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.
- Must meet all health and regulatory requirements as mandated by NYDOH.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to assist in resident evacuations if necessary.
- Work in a well-lit, ventilated environment with occasional interruptions.
- Availability to work beyond regular hours as needed.
