LV Switchboard Commissioning Lead Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive LV Switchboard Commissioning Lead to oversee and lead the commissioning activities of Low Voltage Switchboards during the daylight shift. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in electrical engineering, specifically in switchboard installation, testing, and commissioning, and be comfortable taking the lead on projects, ensuring quality and compliance with safety standards.

As the Commissioning Lead, you will be responsible for coordinating a team of technicians and ensuring the timely and safe completion of all switchboard commissioning activities. This is a hands-on role that requires excellent leadership, technical expertise, and effective communication.

LV Switchboard Commissioning Lead Responsibilities

• Oversee the commissioning of LV switchboards, ensuring proper installation, configuration, and testing of electrical systems according to specifications.
• Supervise and guide a team of technicians and electricians during the commissioning process, ensuring all tasks are performed efficiently and safely.
• Prepare and maintain accurate commissioning records, including test reports, checklists, and as-built documentation.
• Ensure all switchboard installations and tests are carried out in line with industry standards, client requirements, and safety regulations.
• Lead efforts to diagnose and resolve any issues or defects found during the commissioning process.
• Enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations during commissioning activities.
• Liaise with project managers, engineers, and other team members to provide updates on progress and highlight potential issues.
• Provide training and guidance to junior technicians on commissioning best practices and electrical systems.
• Interact with clients, ensuring that their requirements are met and any concerns are addressed promptly.
  
  

LV Switchboard Commissioning Lead Position Requirements

• Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in commissioning LV switchboards, electrical installations, and system testing.
• Relevant certifications in electrical safety and commissioning (e.g., NEBOSH, 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations) preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, switchboard components, protection relays, and associated testing equipment.
• Strong leadership abilities, with experience managing or supervising teams.
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams, clients, and contractors.
• In-depth knowledge of safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
