LV Switchboard Commissioning Lead Responsibilities
- Oversee the commissioning of LV switchboards, ensuring proper installation, configuration, and testing of electrical systems according to specifications.
- Supervise and guide a team of technicians and electricians during the commissioning process, ensuring all tasks are performed efficiently and safely.
- Prepare and maintain accurate commissioning records, including test reports, checklists, and as-built documentation.
- Ensure all switchboard installations and tests are carried out in line with industry standards, client requirements, and safety regulations.
- Lead efforts to diagnose and resolve any issues or defects found during the commissioning process.
- Enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations during commissioning activities.
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and other team members to provide updates on progress and highlight potential issues.
- Provide training and guidance to junior technicians on commissioning best practices and electrical systems.
- Interact with clients, ensuring that their requirements are met and any concerns are addressed promptly.
- Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in commissioning LV switchboards, electrical installations, and system testing.
- Relevant certifications in electrical safety and commissioning (e.g., NEBOSH, 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations) preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, switchboard components, protection relays, and associated testing equipment.
- Strong leadership abilities, with experience managing or supervising teams.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams, clients, and contractors.
