Maintenance Electrician Job Summary
We are seeking a Maintenance Electrician to be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems within the plant. This includes working with high and low-voltage systems, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), motors, and electrical controls. The Maintenance Electrician will ensure that all electrical systems and machinery are operating at optimal efficiency to minimize downtime and maintain a safe working environment.
Maintenance Electrician Responsibilities
We are seeking a Maintenance Electrician to be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems within the plant. This includes working with high and low-voltage systems, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), motors, and electrical controls. The Maintenance Electrician will ensure that all electrical systems and machinery are operating at optimal efficiency to minimize downtime and maintain a safe working environment.
Maintenance Electrician Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical components, wiring, lighting systems, and electrical controls.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical malfunctions, using testing devices such as oscilloscopes, voltmeters, and other diagnostic tools.
- Maintain and repair power distribution systems, transformers, and switchgear.
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Troubleshoot automated equipment and PLC control systems, making necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Collaborate with mechanical maintenance teams to troubleshoot and repair machinery and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, replacements, and maintenance activities in the maintenance management system.
- Assist in the installation of new equipment and electrical upgrades.
- 2-year or 4-year degree in electrical or related field
- Experience in steel mill electrical maintenance
- Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams
- Experience with drives, PLC’s, Level 1 devices, and NFPA 70E
- Experience maintaining overhead cranes
- Exposure to electrical substation equipment and maintenance practices
