Marine Diesel Technician Responsibilities
- Identify mechanical and operational issues in marine diesel engines and propulsion systems.
- Utilize diagnostic tools to assess and resolve technical problems.
- Perform routine servicing, repairs, and adjustments on marine diesel engines, deck equipment, and other machinery.
- Replace worn or damaged parts to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct comprehensive overhauls of diesel engines and propulsion systems.
- Reassemble machinery to manufacturer specifications following repairs or inspections.
- Conduct pre- and post-repair tests to ensure functionality and compliance with safety standards.
- Prepare detailed maintenance and inspection reports.

- Ensure all tools and workspaces are organized and adhere to safety protocols.
- High School Diploma
- Proven experience with marine diesel engines, propulsion systems, and deck machinery. Strong background in troubleshooting, repairing, and overhauling marine equipment.
- Active TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) required.
