Underground Mine Production Operator II Job Summary
Skilled employee who can work individually or as a leader on a team under minimal supervision. Job duties may include operating articulated diesel equipment, operating long-hole percussion drills, placing explosives, placing concrete or shotcrete, constructing concrete forms, installing ground support, and / or acting as lead person or relief supervisor for the crew.
Underground Mine Production Operator II Responsibilities
- Operate diesel Load-Haul-Dump (LHD) unit in production setting. Move broken rock from draw point to ore pass and maintain roadways.
- Assemble, transport, and place explosives for the purpose of cave development or secondary oversize blasting
- Operate concrete batching equipment or placing concrete using diesel equipment (pumps, sprayers) and manual tools (shovels, screed boards)
- Operate diesel-hydraulic drills to drill blast holes and / or install ground support
- Participate in planning jobs, ordering materials, and auditing results
- Manage distribution of explosives from magazine. Perform inventories, verify requisition paperwork, and issue / receive explosives.
- Operate various equipment to perform special projects and / or housekeeping work.
- Perform other duties as requested, including acting as lead or relief supervisor as needed
