SUMMARY: The Food & Beverage Manager is primarily responsible for handling guest interactions with excellent and efficient service in accordance with established standards to achieve 100% customer satisfaction.
The Food & Beverage Manager shall strive to always provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests. S/he will be responsible for exemplifying the Hotel’s Culture and Core Hotels & Resorts’ Core Values.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
• Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
• Always maintain positive guest relations.
• Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Maintain complete knowledge at all times of:
o all hotel features/services, hours of operation
o scheduled in-house group activities, locations and times
o all hotel and departmental policies and procedures
• Designing attractive menus and continuously making improvements.
• Adhering to the food and beverage budget.
• Review scheduled activities, anticipate critical situations, and plan effective solutions to best prepare for these situations.
• Support the F&B marketing plan by keeping current on trends, seasonal offerings, and special promotions.
• Oversee all F&B inventories and financial transactions.
• Creating and enforcing restaurant policies, targets, and KPIs.
• Prepare and adjust weekly work schedules in accordance with staffing guidelines and labor forecasts.
• Ensure that staff report to work as scheduled. Document any late or absent employees.
• Coordinate breaks and assign work duties to staff.
• Inspect, plan and ensure that all materials and equipment are in complete readiness for service; rectify deficiencies with respective personnel.
• Review weekly timecards to ensure accuracy and address any discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Promote sanitation, safety, security efforts, and guest services of the Hotel.
• Ensure equipment and facilities are inspected, cleaned, and in proper operational condition always.
• Monitor the staff’s interaction with guests, ensuring prompt and courteous service; resolve discrepancies with respective personnel.
• Assist staff with their job functions to ensure optimum service to guests.
• Observe guest reactions and confer frequently with staff to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Assist guests with reports of lost/stolen articles, following hotel policy.
• Adhere to hotel requirements for guest/employee accidents or injuries and in emergency situations.
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in the hospitality industry, with an emphasis on food and beverages
• At least three years of supervisory experience in food service operations
• Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
• Ability to adhere to budgets and meet financial targets
• Exceptional organizational, leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to forecast food and beverage needs
• Excellent customer service skills
• In-depth knowledge of the food and beverage industry
• Strong working knowledge of MICROS Simphony is advantageous
JOB REQUIRMENTS:
• Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit
• Must be able to read, write and speak English
• Must have strong computer skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
• Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written
• Must be detailed orientated and work well under pressure
• Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
• Must have excellent listening skills and phone etiquette
• Must possesses excellent communication skills
• Must be professional in appearance and demeanor

WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Must be able to stand on feet throughout the shift, with intermittent periods of walking
• Must be able to occasionally lift, carry, push & pull up to 35 lbs with assistance
• Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently, and squeezing & overhead reaching occasionally
• Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis
• While primarily an indoor job, must be able to walk outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, heat)
• Must be able to climb stairs occasionally, both indoors and outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, heat)
• Must be able to work in variable temperatures, as kitchen temperatures may fluctuate
