Purpose of the Position
Provides secondary and supplemental tooling support for Division-wide projects. Maintains knowledge base. Drives opportunities for new manufacturing technology to support quality objectives and optimized manufacturing cost. Drives implementation of Core Secondary Tooling Strategy. Champion of continuous improvement activities, including new technology implementation and fundamental process understanding, in support of cost reductions and quality improvements. Follows and ensures Core's Intellectual Property management process and documents any intellectual property developed. |
Job Responsibilities, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Drives implementation of new manufacturing technology. Secondary and Alternate technology SME including focused areas of assembly, materials, additive and subtractive processes, and process equipment. Provides support to manufacturing plants as needed: including complete life cycle management, rebuild projects, and replacement programs. Drives fundamental understanding and problem-solving skills. Develops solutions for new product introductions. Supports the quotation, vendor selection, design and manufacturing processes of new secondary and assembly tooling. Assists with designs of new molds. Approves designs ensuring they are, capable, robust, and meet standards. Participates in product design reviews when applicable. Work with vendors, operations, and process engineers in the debug and validation of new equipment and processes to validate and improve standards. Uses rigorous processes and technical knowledge to establish and train technical understanding for process steps. Efficient and data driven troubleshooting of problems with processes and equipment. Follows all required safety standards, wears appropriate PPE for job activities, and maintains equipment in proper and safe working order. Cleans and maintains working area to promote safety and efficiency. Support the One Core directive. |

Education and Experience Requirements
Preferred 4-year Mechanical Engineering Degree & 10 years related experience
