We are looking for an experienced Clinical Administrative Assistant to join our team at our Port Isabel, TX, site. This is a PRN position.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
- Assists the Clinic with daily administrative duties and coordinating the administrative needs of the administrative and clinical staff.
- Assists with the management of a multi-line corporate phone system, routing calls, managing messages, and providing information.
- Effectively communicates and disseminates information through verbal, email, and written communications.
- Manages incoming and outgoing mail, arranging package pickup, and reviewing and distributing time-sensitive items.
- Interacts with customers and clients, delivering exceptional customer service.
- Keeps immediate superior promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance.
- Manages multiple calendars.
- Works with the clinical staff and assist technicians with standard services, as needed.
- Reviews work requests and responds in an appropriate manner.
- Learns administrative processes and practices in order to complete various assignments and projects.
- Supports administrative and clinical staff for time out of the office, lunches, breaks, and meetings.
- Enters data, verifies reports, makes copies, and collects documentation.
- Assists with Patient Intake, medical coding, and EMR systems.
Competencies:
- Ability to handle challenging and/or difficult situations and customers in a positive and professional manner.
- Sensitivity to confidential matters may be required.
- Ability to use office technology, equipment, and learn new administrative functions within an organization.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Some college or medical administration training is preferred.
- Current Medical Assistant Certificate with state license preferred.
Experience:
- A minimum of three (3) years administrative office experience, preferably in a fast-paced clinical setting, is preferred.
- Strong computer and Internet skills, flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills are needed to be successful in this role.
