Summary of Position:
As a Director of Safety and Facilities Management, supporting all of Core States Group and as part of our Shared Operations group, you will be responsible for the safety and risk management practices of the organization as well as facilities & fleet management and includes, but is not limited to, construction safety, 3rd party management, driver’s safety, office and fleet management, and training & education.

Responsibilities:

Safety
  • Lead a strong culture of safety across the entire organization by creating effective safety programs, monitoring compliance with safety regulations, and reporting safety issues and program progress.
  • Develop written safety training and health programs which comply with OSHA CAL/OSHA, local authority having jurisdiction and client specific requirements/regulations.
  • Conduct safety training and education programs, including new-employee health and safety orientations as well as staying up to date with the latest safety practices and regulatory changes.
  • Create and maintain corporate safety library (i.e. videos, regulations, and reference manuals).
  • Inspect or evaluate office locations, construction sites, work equipment, or practices to ensure compliance with safety standards, quality standards, and government regulations. Order suspension of activities when needed.
  • Recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes or materials and investigate accidents to identify causes or to determine how such accidents might be prevented in the future.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation on safety related incidents and manages Workers’ Compensation claims.
  • Coordinate client specific safety requirements and qualifications as needed for clients (i.e. ISN, Avetta)
  • Manage third party safety consultants as needed to support office, site, and fleet safety efforts nationally.
  • Review and report on sub-contractor safety history, EMR and insurance coverage to ensure that it is compliant with accepted safety standards.
  • File and manage insurance claims related to general liability, vehicle accidents, and workers’ compensation.
  • Review vendor/sub-contractor contracts, client contracts and MSAs for safety related items.
Facilities & Fleet Management:
  • Manage fleet administration and budget, including leases, purchases, vehicle maintenance & fuel expenses.
  • Ensure fleet of vehicles meets the standards and regulations set by the Department of Transportation (DOT) as well as any local jurisdictional requirements
  • Manage 24 office locations across the United States to provide support to our office service leaders in day-to-day office requirements and serve as the point of contact for building management.
  • Manage CapEx budget for new office requirements.
  • Maintain records on office leases and subleases.
  • Oversee vendor management for office repairs, upgrades, decommissioning and new office fit-outs.
  • Project Manage the processes for establishment of new office locations, subtenants and moves, including selecting new locations, negotiating terms with the landlord and managing all vendors to complete the project.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety or a related field.
  • Licenses Preferred: CSP, CSHM
  • Certified in First Aid, CPR and AED usage by American Red Cross or equivalent certification required.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of construction and/or safety management experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of all construction disciplines (civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical).
  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations and an understanding of insurance is required
  • Microsoft Office proficiency, specifically excel and power point.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements.

Team:
You will you report to the Vice President of our Shared Operations Group and interact with just about every employee to hold up the highest standards as it pertains to our employee's safety and the facilities they use.

Work Location:
This role is ideally a hybrid role based out of our Ontario, CA or Kent, WA offices.
