CoreCivic is currently seeking a Chief of Staff to the President and Chief Operating Officer located at our corporate office in Brentwood, TN. This position would require a hybrid work schedule of 3 days per week onsite and 2 days remote out of our Brentwood, TN office location.
SUMMARY :
The Chief of Staff serves as a strategic partner and advisor to the President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of CoreCivic. Manages the day-to-day operations of the executive office, facilitating communication and collaboration across departments and ensures the effective execution of strategic initiatives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
The incumbent should be able to perform all of the following functions at a pace and level consistent with the job performance requirements.
1. Organizational Management :
Oversees daily operations of executive office, ensuring efficient workflow and prioritization of tasks.
Coordinates and manages executive schedules, meetings, and travel arrangements.
Develops and implements organizational systems and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
2. Project Management :
Leads and manages special projects and initiatives as assigned by the President / COO.
Develops project plans, sets timelines and ensures successful execution and completion of projects.
Monitors project progress, enforce deliverables and provides regular updates to the President / COO.
3. Communication :
Serves as a liaison between the President / COO and internal / external stakeholders.
Prepares and reviews communications, including emails, reports, presentations and speeches.
Facilitates clear and effective communication across departments and with key stakeholders.
4. Analytical Ability :
Conducts research and analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning.
Prepares detailed reports and presentations on various topics, including business performance, market trends and operational metrics.
5. Financial Acumen :
Assists in the preparation and management of budgets, financial reports, and forecasts.
Analyzes financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
6. Business Acumen :
Understands the core business operations and strategic objectives of CoreCivic.
Provides insights and recommendations to support business growth and operational excellence.
7. Discretion :
Handles sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion and professionalism.
Acts as a trusted advisor to the President / COO, providing honest and constructive feedback.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor's degree in business administration, management or a related field required; MBA preferred.
Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a corporate or government setting.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong financial and business acumen
Demonstrated project management experience
Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
