In this role, you will work as a Mental Health Therapist to plan and provide clinical mental health services on a non-medical basis. You will be responsible for conducting mental health screenings and assessments, providing treatment to inmates, documenting treatment activities, and maintaining confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct mental health screenings and assessments based on available records and clinical interviews with inmates.
- Develop, implement, and modify individual treatment plans based on an evaluation of needs and level of functioning.
- Document treatment and evaluation activities in the health care record for each person seen.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive materials and information at all times.
- Provide appropriate mental health assessments, counseling, and crisis interventions to address the needs of inmates.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a related clinical area from an accredited college or university.
- Five years of clinical experience, including two years in a comparable job position.
- Certification or licensing in the state where practice occurs (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMFT).
- A valid driver's license is preferred unless required by contract or applicable statute.
- Minimum age requirement: 18 years old.
