Description
The Help Desk Technician 1 is an entry level position responsible for providing first-response support to clients related to computer hardware, peripherals, and software. A successful candidate need not have years of experience in the field but must have a passion for technology and an eagerness to learn new skills. Success in the Help Desk Technician I role will be based on a technician’s ability to exceed our clients’ expectations in customer service, communication, and support.
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1st level support, by phone and email, for desktops, laptops, printers, and other computer-related devices and services, both remotely and on-site.
- Provide accurate and timely logging of problems and their resolutions in a ticketing system.
- Grow and maintain in-depth knowledge of products and services supported by our Help Desk team.
- Participate in an on call rotation.
- Successful completion of training and certification requirements assigned by management.
- Frequently move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Help Desk Lead.
Required Skills:
- Must have a passion for technology and problem solving.
- Must exhibit a clear, friendly, and professional phone manner.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical terminology to non-technical end-users.
- Must be able to handle multiple assignments with attention to detail.
- Must have experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems.
- Must have reliable transportation.
