What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Laborer position at Coreslab Structures (CONN) Inc.?
Reporting to the Supervisor, the applicant is responsible for the safely perform tasks involving physical labor for Factory Precast Concrete Production. May clean plant floor through sweeping, vacuuming and other approved methods and remove waste materials. Inventory and organize materials in plant and yard as directed. Prepare for production of product by organizing daily manufactured hardware (bolts, nuts, inserts, lifters, etc.) at each production area per drawings and production area. Maintaining tools, etc. as directed. Assembly and disassembly of Formwork, assemble and placement of reinforcement cages, placing concrete and finish.
Key responsibilities:
- Capable of operating performing multiple tasks
- Operate all equipment in a safe and appropriate manner
- Following signals from Crew Leaders as needed
- Working with production team building and assembling formwork, casting concrete, etc.
- Maintaining proper awareness of one’s surroundings
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation of the equipment
- Must ensure a solid understanding of, and comply with the principles of the company’s Code of Ethics
- Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture
- Attend daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections
- Work with Safety Department to investigate damage, incidents or near misses and ensure proper procedures are carried out according to the Company’s Safety Program
- Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others.
- Perform duties safe and efficiently
- Participate as a vital team member, and contribute towards the success of the organization, may involve the provision of other technical and administrative support, as required
- Duties are performed generally as part of a crew that should function as one unit.
- Collaborate with any project teams on other special initiatives, as required
- If assigned to another crew, the physical demands are similar and proper operation will be followed
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred
- CT Driver’s License
- Read and understand production shop card prints
- Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience within the construction industry
- 2 to 3 years’ experience operating a diverse range of construction tools / equipment is required
