Overview:
The Customer Service Representative position is a fast-paced challenging job, and you must have a strong interest in sales. You will answer customers' telephone, mail, and email inquiries and process orders for product. This role handles customer complaints and you are responsible for resolving complaints and requests for refunds, exchanges, and adjustments upon management approval. You will provide information about products, prices, and shipping time.
More specifically, this position will be responsible for activities including but not limited to the following:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming phone calls in a timely manner.
- Enter customer orders, suggesting the purchase of additional products and providing technical assistance to customers.
- Research customer complaints and answer questions; consult with management for direction to resolve complaints within 24 hours.
- Make weekly calls to customers taking orders for scheduled deliveries.
- Research all customer warranty and/or return requests and complete the appropriate forms and documentation relevant to the issue on the same day received.
- Recommend additional product that may be needed to complete sales order and or complimentary items that are needed.
- Develop product knowledge to ensure ability to specify and recommend products to customers.
- Provide customers with necessary documents and assistance to ensure prompt payment of invoices.
- Stay current with featured products and promotions.
- Attend weekly Branch Sales Meeting. Dexter Job Description 2 of 3
- Communicate market intelligence with customer service team members and Branch Manager.
- Follow all safety requirements and use the proper PPE where required.
- Any other duties as assigned by branch management.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- B2B or Retail sales experience Ability to solve problems.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Anticipating and identifying customer needs.
- Strong computer proficiency
- Must be reliable and responsible; and must have the ability to work independently with little direct supervision
Work Environment:
Office setting primarily; manufacturing or distribution center environment during visits. Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
