Job Summary
The enterprise architecture is a trusted member of the Digital Services leadership team responsible for guiding the organization through digital transformation by connecting strategy and technology disruptions to business and information systems capabilities. They are part of a small team that acts as an internal management consultancy to senior business and DS leaders including DS vice presidents and directors. This team focuses on understanding and applying existing, new, and emerging technologies to transform and optimize business operating models and the organization's technology estate.
The enterprise architect is part of the Office of the CIO team responsible for leading and managing the architecture practice. In this role, the enterprise architecture team provides leadership to and drives alignment across domain, data, and system architects. They establish and disseminate architecture best practices and standards to support the entire architecture team.
Enterprise architects have breadth and depth of knowledge and expertise across multiple technical and business domains. They can analyze and synthesize complex problems and develop capability models, strategy documents and other deliverables that facilitate communication and decision-making by the organization.
While the enterprise architect may work across all technology areas, this role will have a specific near-term focus on cloud transformation, infrastructure and information security

Essential Functions
- Guides the organization in digital transformation by providing internal management consulting to senior business and DS stakeholders.
- Accountable for developing and maintaining enterprise architecture strategy and principles by utilizing well-established relationships, connecting concepts, and synthesizing business vision, organizational needs, strategies and perspectives with available technology and information systems that support the organization.
- Analyzes emerging business and technology trends, and applies knowledge to derive, document and communicate current and future state enterprise architectural direction.
- Provides leadership to the architecture program. Collaborates with architects, DS staff and business team members to align business strategy, organizational priorities, and architecture plans, which guide the organization’s development and adoption of technical solutions. Accountable for establishing metrics and driving measurable value of the DS architecture program.
- Develops and maintains enterprise frameworks, conceptual models, and roadmaps to help communicate and guide the organization’s advancement toward business objectives and outcomes.
- Leads and collaborates with domain and system architects to ensure consistency and alignment of standards to guiding principles and enterprise architecture strategies.
- Provides oversight, coaching and thought leadership to architects and other DS staff.
- Serves DS staff as a source of knowledge, expertise, education, training and mentoring related to areas of expertise.
Required
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in related field
- 15 years of relevant experience
- Prior cloud transformation (preferably AWS) experience
- Prior architecture experience
- Technology leadership experience
- Development of technical portfolios, roadmaps, frameworks, and controls experience
- Master's Degree in related field
- Prior security and enterprise applications
- Prior health care provider or payer experience
- Business architecture and/or strategy experience
