Job Summary
This position performs preventive maintenance, scheduled maintenance and limited repairs on Corewell Health System Utility systems, Life Safety components and performs general maintenance activities. Maintains materials, supplies and equipment to complete these tasks. Adheres to schedules, inspections and investigates problems and performs necessary repairs.
Essential Functions
Performs scheduled Maintenance tasks and limited repairs on equipment relating to BHS’s Utility Systems.
Follows documented operational procedures for maintenance and repairs on Utility equipment without interrupting critical hospital functions.
Maintains parts, supplies and tool inventories as required for maintenance and repairs of WBH Utility systems.
Gathers information on, and generates paperwork for, repairs beyond the scope of job requirements.
Completes daily activity paperwork including recording time and material expenditures and work orders in the Computerized Maintenance Management System.
Investigates problems on BHS’s Utility systems so as to quickly ascertain whether problem found can be handled during the preventive maintenance activity or to create a Corrective Maintenance (CM) work request.
Performs inspection, testing and maintenance of Life Safety features. This would include, but not limited to fire extinguishers, battery powered exit and egress lights and emergency powered exit signs.
Maintains and contributes to a safe work environment.
Uses tools and equipment appropriately.
Qualifications
Required
High School Diploma
Strong mechanical/maintenance background
LIC-Driver's License - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire
Preferred
Experience in a healthcare facility
CRT-At least one License and/or Certification in area of specialty
