Overview: The New Construction Commercial and Multifamily Roofing Account Manager is responsible for managing the sales process, building client relationships, and driving new business opportunities for roofing systems on new construction projects in the commercial and multifamily sectors. This role focuses on business development and account management, with no direct project management duties.

Requirements

Position Objective:

To lead all aspects of sales (defined as new construction commercial and multifamily) and contracts for the top general contractors in the region. It is important that salesperson in this role develop high level customer-focused relationships where the main function is to develop and execute sales plans designed to achieve growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development:
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the commercial and multifamily roofing sector.
  • Build and maintain relationships with general contractors and developers to secure roofing contracts for new construction projects.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals, and bids to prospective clients.
  • Account Management:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients throughout the sales and post-sales process.
  • Develop and sustain long-term client relationships to promote repeat business and referrals.
  • Ensure client satisfaction through consistent communication and addressing concerns efficiently.
  • Sales and Budget Management:
  • Manage sales pipelines, track leads, and close deals to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Provide accurate job costing and work closely with internal teams to ensure bids are aligned with profitability goals.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contract conditions with clients, ensuring adherence to company policies.
  • Market Research and Competitive Analysis:
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and regional market conditions to uncover new business opportunities.
  • Provide insights into new roofing products, technologies, and materials that may benefit clients.
  • Compliance and Safety Awareness:
  • Communicate safety regulations and local building codes to clients.
  • Ensure that all client agreements comply with industry standards and legal requirements.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
  • Keep detailed records of client communications, sales activities, and contracts in CRM.
  • Prepare regular sales reports for management review, outlining progress toward sales targets and account updates.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Sales, Construction, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in commercial roofing, multifamily roofing, or construction sales.
  • Knowledge of roofing systems, materials, and sales processes.
  • Proven record of success in sales and account management within the construction or roofing industry.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Sales and Negotiation Skills: Strong sales skills with the ability to close deals and manage key client accounts.
  • Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of commercial and multifamily roofing systems and construction terminology.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Customer Focus: Ability to build strong client relationships and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to address client needs and resolve issues.
  • CRM Software: Experience with CRM systems for tracking leads, sales activities, and performance.

Certifications and Licenses:

  • Roofing or construction-related certifications are a plus
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client meetings and job sites as needed.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced sales environment.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours when necessary to meet sales targets.
  • Willingness to travel to develop client relationships and secure new business opportunities.
