Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. As a Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly by assisting in meal preparation, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting the overall culinary process.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients for cooking by washing, chopping, slicing, and dicing vegetables and meats.
- Assist in the cooking process by following recipes and instructions from the head chef or kitchen manager.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper food storage and sanitation practices.
- Adhere to food safety guidelines and regulations to ensure the highest quality of food handling.
- Help with inventory management by tracking supplies and notifying management of low stock levels.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
- Participate in daily kitchen operations, including cleaning duties at the end of shifts.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a culinary or food preparation role is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
