Job Summary


Corient Services is seeking a highly-skilled and enthusiastic Payroll Analyst to independently manage our US payroll operations. In this role, you will cultivate excellent relationships with external payroll providers and internal HR Generalists & Stock Administrator. You will be responsible for processing and tracking data flow within our payroll system to ensure that all payroll deadlines are met with precision and timeliness. A solid understanding of payroll and stock-related matters, including taxation, compliance, benefits, and equity plans, is essential.


Key Responsibilities


  • Independently process full-cycle payroll to ensure a timely and accurate end-to-end payroll process for North America for both exempt and non-exempt employees.
  • Manage the payroll auditing process, including regular audits of payroll transactions, processes, and records to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the reconciliation and review of W-2s and other year-end payroll activities, collaborating closely with the accounting team.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for payroll staff on auditing procedures, compliance issues, and new technologies.
  • Contribute to the development of payroll systems strategy, defining payroll systems requirements in collaboration with HR, Finance, Business Process Owners, and IT teams.
  • Support tax and regulatory reporting, quarter-end, and year-end payroll activities, ensuring compliance with wage and hour laws, unemployment, and other required submissions.
  • Audit inbound/Outbound integrations on a semi-monthly basis and possess knowledge of the EIB process.
  • Ensure the delivery of local compliance reporting, including tax filings, 401K, and garnishment requirements.
  • Provide superior customer service to employees by addressing payroll-related inquiries
  • Serve as a backup to the Canada payroll Team.


Education & Certifications


  • BA/BS in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance.
  • 5 years of combined experience in Payroll, Accounting, and Finance.
  • Strong knowledge of multi-state processing, tax regulations, and wage & hour laws
  • Proficient in WorkDay, and ADP SmartCompliance
  • Expertise in local taxes and governmental reporting.
  • Strong business process improvement skills with a focus on automation.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-paced, large-volume work environment.
  • Strong ethical standards and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive data.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with keen attention to detail, completeness, and accuracy.
  • Proficient in Excel (e.g., V-lookups, Formulas, Pivot Tables) with the ability to present information in “executive-ready” format
  • Hands-on, with a strong work ethic and a can-do attitude.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances.
  • Experience with multi-state payroll and knowledge of equity compensation is preferred.


Where You'll Be


This is a hybrid role based in our New York or Miami offices, with a requirement to be in the office 4 days a week. Our working hours align with the Eastern time zone to facilitate collaboration.

Physical Requirements


  • This position requires the physical capabilities to work in an office environment, which may include prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.   • This position is required to work onsite 4 days per week.

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Exceptions to these requirements will be determined based on shortage of qualified candidates with a particular skill. Corient will require proof of work authorization.
  • Corient participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with your Form I-9 information to confirm that you are authorized to work in the U.S. If E-Verify cannot confirm that you are authorized to work, this employer is required to give you written instructions and an opportunity to contact Department of Homeland Security (DHS) or Social Security Administration (SSA) so you can begin to resolve the issue before the employer can take any action against you, including terminating your employment.   • Must be willing to execute Corient’s Employee Agreement or Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement, which require, among other things, post-employment obligations relating to non-solicitation, confidentiality, and non-disclosure.
