Corium Innovations is seeking a Quality Control Chemist II to execute a variety of basic and moderately complex chemical and physical tests on raw materials, in-process and finished product samples according to standard operating procedures and sample testing plans. This position may also verify the work of laboratory personnel for accuracy and compliance, perform basic training and guidance of analytical methods and test procedures, and take part in laboratory investigations and Corrective/Preventative Actions within their assigned department. Responsibilities:
• Perform a variety of basic and moderately complex chemical and physical tests on raw materials, in-process and finished product samples according to standard operating procedures, compendia and sample testing plans.
• Operate analytical instruments independently, including but not limited to pH meter, Titrator, FTIR, UV Vis, Viscometer, Dissolution, (U)HPLC, GC.
• Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of instruments and methods.
• Identify improvements, provide recommendations and implement approved solutions related to new and current methods, processes and procedures.
• Review and approve analytical data and CoA’s generated by laboratory staff.
• Perform basic training in assigned areas of work including analytical methods and test procedures.
• Participate in laboratory investigations and corrective/preventative actions as needed.
• Participate in quality audits, regulatory inspections and/or supplier audits as needed.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a science related discipline preferred.
• 2-4 years of related work experience with a Bachelor’s degree.
• 5-7 years of related work experience without a Bachelor’s degree.
• Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records.
• Strong attention to detail; ability to complete tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
• High level of organization and ability to multi-task.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Software Products.
• Knowledge of FDA, cGMP, ISO, and familiar with a variety of quality concepts, practices, and procedures.
