Job Overview
Corkery Transport is seeking a dedicated and experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the human resources functions of our organization, ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations while fostering a positive work environment. This position requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of HR practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Be the Face of HR: Serve as a representative of the Company, displaying courtesy, tact, and discretion in all interactions.
  • The HR Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of employee management: hiring, training, performance evaluation, compensation and benefits, employee relations, and ensuring compliance with labor laws.
  • Support Our Team: Manage HR-related questions over the phone and through email, covering payroll, benefits, company policies, performance, and more.
  • Orientation & Training: Conducts and assists with New Hire orientation, manages orientation materials, and assist new hires with benefits enrollment.
  • Possess the required skill set in understanding and interpreting DOT laws and regulations.
  • Ensure the organization’s compliance with local, state, and federal regulations,
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
  • The HR Manager will manage key HR functions, ensuring compliance, process improvement, and effective employee support.
  • Tracking key performance indicators related to employee productivity, absenteeism, and safety within the operation.
  • Develop and standardize company policies (hiring, vacation, etc.)
  • Ensure HR policies and procedures comply with employment regulations.
  • Investigate employee issues and conflicts and brings them to resolution; handle disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability:Be ready to tackle other projects and responsibilities as assigned, demonstrating your versatility and willingness to contribute wherever needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • McLeod Trucking Software experience preferred.
  • The ideal candidate must have a thorough understanding of the unique challenges inherent in the trucking industry.
  • The candidate will possess the required skill set in understanding and interpreting DOT laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of industry-related state and Federal rules and regulations.
  • Innovative thinking with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Must be a confident communicator, (including written, and verbal skills) and able to effectively champion ideas, influence, and present to leadership.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects with competing priorities, diverse audiences, and challenging environments.
  • Strong leadership abilities, a confident demeanor, and the determination to assert yourself effectively.
  • The ability to think strategically along with a willingness to roll up your sleeves to achieve goals.
  • Initiative and the ability to achieve goals independently.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
