Maintenance Mechanic - $1500 Sign-on BONUS!
Job Type: Full-Time - Hourly
Goldfield, IA
Schedule: Monday - Friday - 7:00am - 4:00pm
Starting Salary - $28.00/hour *gainsharing bonus potential*
Routine Responsibilities:
- Troubleshooting and repairing various plant issues. May include high speed equipment, mechanical defects, material of construction failure or wear, electrical components failure, wiring problems, control wiring, control logic, piping replacement, valve replacement, pump alignment, bearing failure, seal failure, etc.
- Will be expected to make suggestions of alternatives and recommendations for solutions to various problems.
- Will perform preventative and predictive analyses of equipment in field.
- Will be on call for plant as needed and be available for consultation by mobile phone when off-shift and on call.
- Provide pertinent information to order parts and equipment from various suppliers.
- Keep accurate record of repairs made in the computerized work order system.
- Identification of process optimization and cost reduction opportunities.
- Communication with all personnel with respect to departmental activities.
- Safe operation of all plant areas.
- Ethical behavior with respect to all company activities.
- Environmental compliance.

- Able to operate heavy equipment in performance of job duties.
- Able to grasp control system technology concepts.
- Possess knowledge of electrical fundamentals.
- Maneuver and lift equipment and material which will weigh up to 50 lbs.
- Utilize stairs and ladders to access equipment above the ground level.
- Stand and walk for periods in excess of 6 - 8 hours per day.
- Able to perform calculations in order to design and build work projects.
- Ability to MIG, stick, and wire weld as well as utilize a oxygen/acetylene torch.
- Utilize numerous hand tools.
- Ability to work in areas where heights and confined spaces are involved.
- Able to work in environment where temperatures may range from below 0° F - 130° F.
- Able to utilize respirator.
- Able to distinguish color differences for wiring.
- Possess basic computer skills.
