What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance - Mechanic position at Innovative Ag Services?
Primary Objective: To provide safe, quality, and efficient customer service in truck equipment repair within regional operations for the benefit of IAS and its member owners. Main Responsibilities:
- Arrive at assigned workplace on time; notify supervisor of late arrivals or absences prior to start time.
- Maintain required licenses and physicals necessary to perform job requirements.
- Assist with shop operations including collaborative scheduling, making repairs, processing paperwork from vendors, and processing work orders and shop invoices.
- Maintain cleanliness of shop and warehouse areas.
- Operate and maintain equipment and facilities as needed.
- Assist with distributing farm supply products and grain when assigned.
- Participate in safety and job-related training programs.
- Follow company policies regarding safety and conduct.
- Create a positive, professional image for customers and community.
- Cross-train in millwright duties and responsibilities.
- Accept and carry out other assigned duties given by location manager.
- Maintain data and execute company plans in shop efficiency and billable hours directed by location manager.
- Manage tool inventory tracking and reporting.
- Possess DOT Inspection Certification.
- Demonstrate mechanical aptitude, understanding of mechanical systems, and knowledge of various machines and tools.
- Knowledge of diesel engines and computer diagnostics.
- Display high initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments efficiently.
- Effective communication skills in written and oral form.
- Ability to organize, adapt to change, and work on multiple tasks concurrently.
- Basic math skills for performing operations.
- Requires static strength to lift, push, pull, or carry objects weighing at least 50 pounds.
- Flexibility to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs.
- Trunk strength and ability to use abdominal and lower back muscles repeatedly or continuously.
- Possible exposure to seasonal weather, outdoor conditions, and agriculture products.
- May require Personal Protective Equipment for certain tasks.
