What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ophthalmic Technician position at Cornea Consultants of Texas?
We are looking for a full-time Ophthalmic Technician for our practice. The ideal technician would be dependable and energetic with a positive attitude and a passion for caring for others. Ophthalmology experience is a plus!

Job responsibilities
- During clinic, perform patient work-up including the 12-points eye exam
- Scribe for doctor, if needed
- Perform ophthalmic testing (vision, manual refraction, pressure)
- Maintaining, calibrating, cleaning and sterilizing ophthalmic equipment
- Monitor inventory of supplies and restock as necessary
- Properly operate common non-automated and automated ophthalmic equipment
- Ensure quality of care and safety of patients
- Properly assist physically and visually impaired patients
- Assist in administrative duties
- Opening the clinic prior to patient workup
- Work up patients within the required timeframe
- Accept other duties assigned
Qualified applicants will exhibit the following:
- At least 1 year in Cornea/Cataract is a plus, willing to train the right candidate.
- NextGen EMR Experience
- Proficient in computer skills: Word, Outlook, can work PC/mouse
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Loyalty: We are looking to hire a long-term employee

- Requires flexibility of hours; may be required to work overtime
