This is a full-time (40 hrs./week) benefits eligible, non-exempt position. Compensation range between $22.88 – $23.62 per hour, with generous paid time off provided.

Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Two years of experience as an administrative assistant.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to multi-task.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in windows-based software including use of the Internet, Adobe programs and Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel.
- Ability to plan and organize personal work responsibilities according to priorities developed with immediate supervisor.
- Ability to work with a high degree of integrity, sound professional judgment, and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to communicate effectively through verbal, written, and visual channels using traditional methods and educational tools, as well as electronic technology(e.g., video, audio, computers, etc.)
- Ability to work as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience in administrative, clerical, reception, or related field.
- Knowledge of Cornell Cooperative Extensions mission and programs.
- Knowledge of 4H’s mission and positive youth development programming.
- Experience with website maintenance and development.
Program Responsibilities:
Coordination/Operation - 95%
- Perform a substantial amount of limited complexity tasks to support the administration of the 4H program, as assigned.
- Coordinate meetings and appointments.
- Perform general typing/word processing of correspondence, forms, reports, letters, and brochures.
- Enter data in various computer programs or into online forms/system.
- Prepare noncomplex reports from records.
- Assist with the preparation, proofreading, distribution, and mailing or emailing documents.
- Maintain and organize various social media platforms.
- Maintain program area files and information in accordance with record retention guidelines.
- Effectively utilize software programs to perform routine data collection and compilation.
- Prepare and send e-mail reminders to 4H participants regarding upcoming events, deadlines, required documentation and/or information, and other pertinent information.
- Assist with handling correspondence, contracts and cross project duties, including but not limited to preparing vouchers for finance department, correspondence between vendors, press releases, committee/other meeting setups, etc.
- Assistant program financial management by accepting payments, providing receipts, maintaining program payment records, and turning funds over to the finance manager according to established policies and procedures.
- Assist with preparation of grants, project plans, financial claims, and other documents and reports.
- Process and maintain enrollment and special event/program registrations ensuring accuracy, security, and confidentiality of all data and information.
- Assistant conducting background and other required screenings. Ensure that program and participant data records are maintained, organized, and stored to comply with archival requirements according to established policies and procedures, ensuring accuracy, security, and confidentiality of all data and information.
- Assist 4H program staff in the coordination of scheduling rooms/facilities for meetings and events including refreshments, set up, conferencing, clean up, etc.
- Maintain and update CCE Delaware County website and social media with general 4H related content.
- Assist with Delaware County fair duties to include but not limited to corresponding with members and fair superintendents, ordering supplies, updating the fair book and posting it on the website, printing show books, used building an animal judge letters and correspondence, printing 4H fair passes, livestock auction program, working with their secretary re: computer programs, program troubleshooting and fair end results and checks.
- Complete other tasks as assigned.

- In cooperation with Team Leader and/or Executive Director, jointly develop and pursue a professional development plan as a means to increase competencies relative to position accountabilities and to address changes and Association priorities.

- Collaborate in activities that are in general support of Cornell Cooperative Extension including but not limited to attendance at staff meetings, timely reporting of expenses, working with other staff, general marketing of Cooperative Extension programs and other duties as assigned.

- Secure necessary operating permits for 4-H Camp Shankitunk from agencies including the NYS Department of Health.
- Meet quality standards of and maintain accreditation from the American Camp Association.
- Monitor policies and practices that reduce risk and promote health and safety for campers and camp staff at 4-H Camp Shankitunk.
- Assist Executive Director with maintaining external relationships with insurer; local police, fire, and emergency medical units; inspectors and compliance officers on issues of health and safety.
