What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant- Internal Medicine (Full Time) position at Cornell Scott - Hill Health Center?
Our healthcare facility is in need of a reliable Medical Assistant (MA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to perform various office and clinical duties to keep our healthcare practice running efficiently. Our MA or CNA will work directly with healthcare practice staff to collect test samples, maintain patient records, explain common medical procedures to patients and assist in basic examinations.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Update and maintain all electronic medical records in EPIC
- Record patient information such as vital signs, EKGS, weight and changes in medical history prior to each appointment
- Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments
- Work in the front office, performing tasks such as answering phone calls and greeting patients as they enter the facility
- Scheduling Appointments for patients
- Point of Care Testing (examples: Urinalysis; Strep Throat Swab samples; Blood Glucose; Pregnancy Tests)
- Assist with provider exams (set up for pap smears, wound care)
- High School Diploma/GED required. Certificate of graduation from an accredited school for Medical Assistants or certification as a Nursing Assistant from the State of Connecticut Department of Health is required. Phlebotomy Certification (National Phlebotomy Association or National Healthcare Association) is preferred. Current CPR certification from the American Heart
- Ability to communicate and work with individuals who have health/social problems.
- Computer skills are required with the ability to learn EPIC and Outlook.
- Excellent customer services skills and the ability to accept supervision and assigned responsibilities are necessary.
- Must be able to demonstrate competency in performing all vital signs.
- Ability to read and write legibly in English and comprehend basic health information is essential.
- Bilingual individual desirable.
