What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Research Associate, PreClinical position at Corner Therapeutics?
The Role
The Senior Research Associate will work with a scientist within the Preclinical Department. The predominant focus will be to generate data in support of bringing our innovative therapies to the clinic. Specifically, scientific work will focus on the use of primary cells and cell lines in tissue culture to understand the mechanism of action of our therapies. Additional projects could also involve the evaluation of new drug candidates and formulations and proof of concept studies. The Research Associate will drive multiple projects forward in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The position requires someone who can work both independently and collaboratively to plan and execute experiments and analyze, document, and summarize data. The selected candidate should possess keen attention to detail, be able to multitask, showcase ability to collaborate with other team members and communicate effectively.
The Responsibilities:
· Plan experiments, execute assays, analyze data, and communicate findings in weekly internal meetings
· Perform immunological assays such as multi-color flow cytometry, ELISA, functional assays and cell-based reporter assays
· Help design and set up new assays, identify key areas for optimization, and troubleshoot
· Culture mammalian cells using aseptic technique
· Run molecular biology assays such as BCA protein quantification and western blotting
· Isolate and cryogenically store cell lines and primary cells from human blood products
· Clearly and accurately document experimental work in an electronic lab notebook
· Assist in maintaining general lab safety and functionality, including maintenance of equipment
· Procure, organize, and maintain inventory of materials and reagents needed for experiments
Preferred Qualifications
· BS/MS degree in a biological science, immunology or equivalent
· 3-5 years of research experience (of which 2 years are in industry), with experience in immunology, cancer biology, and nanoparticle drug delivery strongly desired
· Experience using and troubleshooting standard immunological assays such as ELISA, immunostaining (surface and intracellular) for flow cytometry (FACS Symphony and/or Novocyte cytometers), and western blotting.
· Experience with designing flow cytometry panels
· Experience with Lumit assays, preferably utilizing GloMax Explorer microplate reader
· Isolation of immune cell populations using immuno-magnetic beads (previous work with MultiMACS Cell24 Seperator and autoMACSpro is a plus)
· Experience with human monocyte-derived dendritic cells and T cells
· Previous use of Benchling as an electronic lab notebook platform is a plus
