Experienced Lead Block Layer

Cornerstone Custom Construction, Inc. is accepting applications for a qualified & experienced Lead Block Layers for our residential construction services. This is a full-time position located throughout Minnesota, but focused mainly on the North Metro areas.

Ideally this position if for an experienced Block Layer with 5 years experience laying block and 2 years experience as a block laborer.  The focus of this position is on the performing, training, and development of the crews, while running the day-to-day projects with a Masonry team. Valid Drivers License and clean driving record required.

Lead Block Layer is a hands-on field position with a concentration of communications between the office, the Field Team, the job superintendents, and our main vendors.

To do this role, you must have a good understanding and ability to perform & train in the areas of set-up, layout, running leads, lines and bolt layouts, in the residential and light commercial areas.

This is a leadership position requiring the ability to lay out a daily plan with the Team and coordinate the production efforts on the job site.

Leadership Expectations :

• Layout daily plan with team and customer(s).
• Coordinate the production on the job and manage site details.
• Order job materials.
• Communicate with entire team daily, and manage employee work flow.
• Train employees on block production.
• Block Laying, core fills, bond beam and bolts.
• Forming & Footings.
• Site accountability, systems and processes with Assistant Leads.
• Must be able to follow a equipment maintenance schedule.
• Know and be able to function in Buildertrend.

Another part of this position is ensuring the teams’ success from start to the finish of a project.  This includes making sure the tools and vehicles are all in working order, but it does not require you to be a mechanic.

This position becomes the face of the production side of the company in the field to our customers.  This position ties directly into working with the Estimator and Operations Manager. The reporting is directly with the Operations Manager. The CEO is also involved as needed. The compensation is an hourly position. Class A license is preferred, but not required.

Salary : $38 - $42
