What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Lead Estimator Plumbing and HVAC position at Cornerstone Mechanical?
As a mechanical estimator at Cornerstone Mechanical, you will be responsible for the development of cost estimates for mechanical systems for new construction and renovation projects. This will include Plumbing and HVAC systems. You will work closely with the project manager and other member of the project team to develop an understanding of the project scope, schedule, and budget. You will also be responsible for the development and maintenance of the project estimate throughout the project lifecycle.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of mechanical systems, construction methods, and materials. You will also need to be able to effectively communicate with project team members and clients.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Review and analyze project document to develop an understanding of the scope of work, project schedule and potential risks.
- Develop a comprehensive estimate for all mechanical systems required for the project.
- Utilize historical data, trends and market analysis to support the development of the estimate
- Identify and quantify risk factors that could impact the accuracy of the estimate.
- Prepare a detailed report outlining the estimate, assumptions made, and risks identified.
- Present the estimate to the project team for review and approval.
- Update the estimate throughout the course of the project as new information becomes available.
- Monitor project progress and revise estimate as needed.
- Assist in the development of change orders and claims as needed.
- Participate in project meetings and provide input on the status of the estimate.
- Maintain accurate records of all estimates prepared.
- Perform quality control checks on estimates prepared by other estimates.
