General Job Summary
Under the general direction of the COO, recommends, designs and implements maintenance protocols to ensure industrial machinery and all equipment used in manufacturing, as well as plumbing, heating and electrical systems of all facilities, are in optimum operating order. Responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities at all locations and shifts as well as managing a team of 5-10 maintenance associates.
Essential Job Functions
Determine schedule of preventive maintenance on all equipment to reduce down time, and ensure schedule is met
Ensure repairs on all machinery are completed in a timely fashion
Ensure all electrical work is completed in a timely fashion
Manage assembly and installation of new equipment
Maintain metrics, reports, process documentation, logs and records for all critical equipment and employees
Schedule and manage building maintenance
Ensure equipment certifications and renewals, as appropriate
Assure adequate supply of spare parts for all machinery
Design models for use in evaluating maintenance
Recommend purchase of new and improved equipment and technology
Develop risk management programs to ensure continuity of manufacturing in the wake of a catastrophic event
Analyze the financial impact of proposed equipment changes
Work with engineering, IT and other departments as needed, to ensure efficient and effective completion of mill reorganizations and similar projects
Ensure maintenance staff is adequately trained on current and new equipment
Other Duties And Responsibilities
Ensure parking lots, walkways, etc. of all facilities are kept clear and safe during snow events
Others as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
All staff in Maintenance Department
Skills/Experience/Training Required
Minimum of 10 years of experience in maintenance and electrical work
Proven success in team management and development
Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) from four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent skills in three-dimensional thinking, problem solving and negotiation
Working knowledge of modern office procedures, practices and equipment, including the use of computers
