Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Process Optimization Leader to join our team at Corning Incorporated. In this role, you will be responsible for leading daily operations activities to achieve safety, quality, cost, and productivity performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to improve production area(s) efficiency, meeting or exceeding safety, quality, cost, capacity, and delivery objectives.
- Champion safety performance by driving employee engagement and compliance.
- Manage daily production and quality issues, resolving performance issues promptly by ensuring clear ownership of responsibilities.
- Lead initiatives to improve yield and reduce production errors, managing quality processes effectively.
- Support cost reduction initiatives and define, manage, and support continuous improvement of existing manufacturing processes.
- Identify production bottlenecks and optimize resource allocation to maximize throughput.
- Collaborate with supply chain teams to optimize production output and achieve on-time delivery metrics.
- Work closely with Engineering teams to identify and resolve chronic equipment and process issues.
- Ensure the effective transfer of next-generation product and process technologies to manufacturing, including safety, ergonomics, 5S procedures, training, and production capacity.
- Lead initiatives to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and reduce rework/scrap.
- Enhance visual metrics and reporting systems, implementing individual metrics systems.
- Manage training and cross-training plans to ensure operators receive adequate training and support.
- Identify and lead implementation of Lean initiatives such as Single-Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED), 5S, iKaizan, and visual management.
- Address areas of inefficient operation and collaborate with support teams to implement improvements.
- Ensure department production capacity meets demand, both current and future.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree (Engineering preferred) or equivalent manufacturing experience.
- 2-3 years' work experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in computer and data analytics skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated safety leadership.
- Proven ability to effectively lead and motivate production teams, creating vision and executing change.
- Sound decision-making skills - ability to analyze data from multiple sources and set direction.
- Ability to handle/prioritize multiple tasks as necessary.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both vertically and horizontally within the organization.
- Strong time management and organization skills.
