What are the responsibilities and job description for the Toddler Teacher and Preschool Assistant position at Cornwall Child Center?
The Cornwall Child Center serves children ages 12 weeks - 5 years and is open year round. It employs and supports a teacher who has the educational qualifications, knowledge, and professional commitment necessary to promote children's learning and development and one who will support families' diverse needs and interests. The candidate for this position is sensitive and responsive to children's needs, interacting in a calm and gentle manner which provides stability and dependability for all those in attendance. The candidate is also a team player respectful of others input and opinions. Our Infant / Toddler Room consists of a group of 8 children ages 3 months - 2 years and our Preschool Room consists of 16 children ages 3-5 years. We are NAEYC accredited and committed to a quality Early Childhood experience.
Some responsibilities of the job are:
- Curriculum planning and assessing based on objectives for development and learning.
- Understanding and implementing positive discipline strategies including redirection, problem solving, mindfulness, etc.
- Knowledge of NAEYC criteria and OEC state regulations.
Education Qualifications and Experience
- Applicant should have an Associates or a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development or a Human Services related field and/or have at least 12 credit hours in early childhood.
- Minimum of 2 years documented experience working with young children preferably in a childcare setting.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.50 - $22.00 per hour
