Pool Attendant

The pool attendant position is responsible for maintaining the safety and cleanliness of a swimming pool area by enforcing pool rules, monitoring swimmers, performing basic cleaning tasks, checking for proper chemical levels, providing customer service, and assisting with any issues or emergencies that may arise while prioritizing the well-being of pool users.

Responsibilities:

· Actively monitoring pool activity to ensure guests follow established safety rules and regulations set by Corolla Light Resort and NC state rules and regulations covered in NC DHHS 15A NCAC 18A .2500.

· Regularly testing pool chemical levels.

· Vacuuming and removing debris from the pool, cleaning pool deck, furniture and surrounding areas.

· Checking the restrooms for cleanliness.

· Greeting guests, providing information about pool rules and facilities, addressing inquiries and resolving minor issues.

· Being prepared to respond to emergencies like potential drowning situations, providing first aid if necessary, and notifying management immediately.

· Maintain a calm and composed demeanor during emergency situations.

· Maintain accurate records of incidents, rescues, and any first aid treatments provided. Complete any other necessary paperwork that is required.

· Putting pool furniture back to the correct places, securing umbrellas, and securing pool deck at the end of day.

Required Skills and Qualifications

· Excellent customer service

· Ability to enforce rules firmly and fairly

· Attention to detail and good observation skills

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Comfortable enough with water to enter a 5ft pool

· Be able to pass a First Aid and CPR class

Work Environment

· Exposed to varying weather conditions like sun, heat, humidity and occasional rain while primarily stationed around the pool deck.

· May be required to work weekends and holidays.

Physical Demands

While performing this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time. Employee may occasionally have to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal

Pay: Up to $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• Holidays
• Monday to Friday
• Rotating weekends

Ability to Relocate:

• Corolla, NC 27927: Relocate before starting work (Required)
