Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Lathe Programmer to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC lathes to produce high-quality, tight-tolerance parts. The role requires strong technical skills, a deep background in lathe programming and operation, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality, safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Programming: Develop and modify CNC programs for lathe operations using G-code with MasterCam.
- Setup: Set up lathes for production runs, including selecting tools and fixtures, and adjusting machine settings.
- Operation: Operate CNC lathes to produce precision parts according to specifications and tolerances as tight as .0002”.
- Inspection/Quality: Conduct regular inspections of workpieces using measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, comparators, molds, gauges) to ensure quality standards are met.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve programming, tooling, and machine operation issues.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production runs, machine maintenance, and tooling changes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers and other team members to improve processes and product quality.
- Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in CNC programming or machining preferred.
- 5 years experience as a CNC lathe programmer and operator, with a strong understanding of G-code programming.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with various types of CNC lathes and tooling.
- Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $32.00 - $45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
