What are the responsibilities and job description for the Public Works Construction Superintendent position at Corp Inc?
This position is for an Onsite Superintendent on Public Works construction projects to ensure completion in accordance with design, budget and schedule. Projects may be in the Portland-Vancouver Metro Area or further afield. Depending on the project distance from the metro area, weekday lodging may be provided.
The candidate must have a thorough understanding of commercial construction and supervision, workplace safety, project plans, and specifications. Be onsite during work hours and be able to address and resolve any issues that arise. Must be able to pass criminal background check. Current Oregon Driver's License required.
Ten or more years as Superintendent with a General Contractor doing commercial construction required.
Responsibilities
o Work closely with Project Manager, Project Coordinator and Subcontractors
o Attend weekly OAC project meetings
o Coordinate subcontractors and manage daily activities, deliveries, inspections, and visitors
o Ensure that all work is performed per plans and specs
o Communicate any plan discrepancies or changes to PM in a timely manner
o Complete daily documentation of work completed and any changes
o Conduct weekly safety meetings and monitor jobsite compliance with OSHA regulations
o Prepare and monitor completion of punch list items as the project progresses
o Ensure as-builts are properly completed
Qualifications and skills
o Strong leadership skills
o Complete knowledge of commercial building processes, procedures and techniques
o Understanding of plans, specifications, contract documents
o Excellent spoken and written communication skills
o Ability to handle and resolve problems with clients, subs and field personnel
o Team player, able to work under pressure in fast moving environment
o Intermediate or above average computer skills, use of Mac and MS Office Suite
o Ability to adapt to owner/architect software programs as needed
o Experience using Procore REQUIRED
